Six people injured, one critically after a stolen vehicle which was being monitored by police, lost control after driving at a high rate of speed and struck another vehicle in Chicago, Illinois on August 23, 2024. Friday evening at approximately 10:35 p.m. on the 7600 block of W. Touhy Avenue, a driver with three passengers in a stolen vehicle was being monitored by police helicopter going northbound on W. Touhy Avenue at a high rate of speed lost control and struck another vehicle with a female driving victim. The 21-year-old male driver of the vehicle sustained a leg and spine injury and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Three other females and one male were taken to the hospitas for minor injuries. Officers recovered a handgun at the scene.
SWAT response at a residence in Chicago, Illinois on August 23, 2024. Friday evening, at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the 3300 block of S. Carpenter Street, Chicago police officers responded to a call and there was a SWAT incident initiated after a man reportedly barricaded himself inside of a residence. The residence was later discovered to be unoccupied. There is no one in custody.

Two people shot on the 10100 block of S. May Street in Chicago, Illinois on August 23, 2024. Friday evening at approximately 10:50 pm, two people were hanging out in front of their house when an unknown vehicle approached and someone unknown fired multiple shots in their direction. A 47-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the right hand and was transported to the hospital in good condition. A 48-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm and four gunshot wounds to the left shin and self transported to the hospital in good condition.
Man found dead in the alley with a gunshot wound to the abdomen in Chicago, Illinois on August 23, 2024. Friday evening at approximately 11:10 pm on the 7900 block of S. Philips Avenue, Chicago Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter call and while touring the area an additional call came out of a person shot. Officers located a 35-40-year-old male unresponsive and it was discovered that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was pronounced dead on scene. There is no one in custody.

29-year-old man killed on the 1300 block of E. 53rd Street in Chicago, Illinois on August 22, 2024. At approximately 4:20 p.m., Thursday afternoon a 29-year-old male victim was standing outside when he was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown male suspect. The suspect displayed a firearm and fired a gunshot in the victim’s direction and fled in an unknown direction. The victim sustained one gunshot wound to the neck and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. There is no suspect in custody.
