A 47-year-old man was violently robbed Monday night on the Near North Side. At 11:45 p.m., he was sitting in his vehicle at a red light in the 500 block of North Columbus when a male opened the passenger door, got inside and demanded the man’s property
A family was displaced by a fire early Monday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. Officers were patrolling at 12:07 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Congress Parkway when they saw a residential two-flat building on fire, according to Chicago Police.
Bail was denied for a Northwest Side man (Paul Granados, 54) accused of fatally shooting the owner (Horacio Galvan-Hernandez, 46) of a currency exchange (Envios De Dinero) earlier this week
One person was killed and eleven others were injured in an eight-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in the Loop. The pin-in crash happened about 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of Congress Parkway and Wells Street, according to Chicago Police and Chicago Fire Media Affairs. A 24-year-old man was shot Sunday morning in the South Side Englewood neighborhood. He was walking about 4 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Halsted when he heard a shot and was struck in a finger.
A man killed in a double shooting in Humboldt Park early Saturday has been identified. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Antonio Reyes, 38. He lived in the 1200 block of North Campbell Avenue, less than a block from the scene of the shooting
A 23-year-old woman was shot early Sunday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. At 2:57 a.m., she was driving a gray sedan through an alley in the 6000 block of South Troy when she heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. She was shot in the back.
A 32-year-old woman showed up at a Chicago hospital in serious condition after being shot early Sunday. An acquaintance took the woman to Stroger Hospital in the 1900 block of West Ogden about 2 a.m., according to Chicago Police. She had been shot multiple times in the hip and upper body and was in serious condition.
A 33-year-old man was shot during a robbery early Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood. At 1:35 a.m., he was walking on the sidewalk in the 5700 block of West Huron when several males approached and demanded his property, according to Chicago Police.

One of the males then pulled out a handgun and fired shots, striking the boy in his left leg.
A 64-year old man was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening on the South Side. The man was walking at 5:58 p.m. in an alley in the 800 block of East 76th Street when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in his leg, according to Chicago Police.
A man and a woman were shot Saturday afternoon during an argument in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side. About 4 p.m., they were in the 2400 block of South Albany when two dark-colored vehicles pulled up and an argument ensued, according to Chicago Police. During the argument, a male driver got out of his vehicle and fired shots.

A woman was found stabbed to death in the East Chatham neighborhood home she shared with a man who jumped to his death from the Chicago Skyway into the Calumet River Monday afternoon. Curtis Bradley, 24, jumped into the Calumet River from the Skyway about 3 p.m. following a traffic crash on the toll bridge near 97th Street, according to the Chicago Police and Fire departments and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A 16-year-old boy was shot Tuesday afternoon in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The boy was shot in the leg at 1:22 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Francisco, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

Manuel Ramirez was sitting in a vehicle about 7:30 p.m. when he was shot multiple times in the 4200 block of West Hirsch, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said. He got out of his vehicle and collapsed to the ground.

Emergency crews responded at 3:29 a.m. Jan. 14 to a call of a person who had fallen at a nightclub in the 1100 block of North Elston, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No one was injured when a fire broke out early Wednesday at Roberto Clemente High School in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood. A Bloomington drug dealer has been sentenced to 22 years in prison. McLean County Judge Judge Robert Freitag on Monday issued the sentence for Andrew Pinkston, 47, stemming from his June 2016 arrest for selling cocaine.
