Three buildings were destroyed in a fire in Back of the Yards Friday night. Officials said the vacant buildings were located near 46th Street and Marshfield.
An off-duty officer exchanged gunfire with someone Friday during an attempted robbery at a business in the Edgewater neighborhood. About 1:20 p.m., an armed person confronted the store owner and the off-duty officer in the 6200 block of North Clark Street, Chicago Police said.

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday in the Hollywood Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, Chicago Police said. About 1:05 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person down in the 3300 block of West Hollywood Avenue, where they found the man on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his head and chest, police said. He was pronounced at the scene.
A man was shot and killed Saturday night in the West Chesterfield neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago Police said. About 11:20 p.m., a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were standing in front of an apartment building in the 9400 block of South Wabash Avenue when someone fired shots, police said.

A 63-year-old woman is recovering after her van was stolen while she loaded it Friday. The attack happened just before 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road.

A 34-year-old woman was putting a toddler into a vehicle when someone walked up and fired shots at 2:49 p.m. near the intersection of West Jackson Boulevard and South Lotus Avenue. She was shot in the abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition, Chicago Police said.

A woman was sexually assaulted Thursday night in the Lake View neighborhood. About 10:55 p.m., the 24-year-old woman noticed a man outside her apartment’s courtyard in the 3900 block of North Freemont Street, Chicago Police said.
The woman was identified as Dorata Gieslinska, of the Northwest Side, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy was scheduled.

A federal drug trafficking investigation in Little Village and West Garfield Park led to charges filed against more than 12 people, officials announced Thursday. According to officials, investigators seized heroin, fentanyl, MDMA, cocaine, 12 illegal firearms and approximately $60,000 in cash.

A man was shot to death Wednesday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood. Ahmad Junious, 21, was found unresponsive shortly after 2 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Lexington, Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
A man was found dead on a CTA train early Thursday near the Howard station on the North Side. CTA employees found the 56-year-old man unresponsive in a train car at 2:43 a.m. in the 7500 block of North Paulina, according to Chicago Police. He was dead at the scene and had no visible injuries.
Two people were injured after a driver crossed into oncoming traffic Wednesday night in northwest suburban Sycamore Township. The crash occurred at 10:35 p.m. on Peace Road south of Brickville Road, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
