A man was seriously wounded early Sunday when he was shot in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood. The 36-year-old was walking on a sidewalk at 2:23 a.m. when someone walked up to him in the 5500 block of South State and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.
A man was seriously wounded early Sunday in a West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood shooting. The 37-year-old was walking on a sidewalk at 2:12 a.m. when someone in a vehicle opened fire in the 2500 block of West Potomac, according to Chicago Police.
A man was killed early Sunday when he crashed a U-Haul van on a bridge near the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood, according to Chicago Police. The 65-year-old was speeding north about 2:30 a.m. when the U-Haul he was driving hit the median of a bridge in the 2400 block of South Halsted, police said.
A man was found dead early Sunday in the Near West Side East Ukrainian Village neighborhood. Officers found him on a sidewalk just before 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Ashland, according to Chicago Police. The man had severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office didn’t immediately confirm the death.
Two men were wounded early Sunday in a South Deering neighborhood shooting on the Far South Side. The men were in a parked vehicle at 12:33 a.m. when shots were fired in an alley in the 10200 block of South Commercial, according to Chicago Police.
Chicago police are searching for a driver who struck and killed a bicyclist in the Humboldt Park neighborhood while operating a stolen SUV. A 46-year-old man was hit by the SUV Thursday around 5:30 p.m. while biking on Augusta Boulevard near Avers Avenue on the West Side, police said.

The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a 24-year-old man for the April 2017 death of a Belleville toddler. According to Captain Bruce Fleshren, a spokesman for the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were sent to a home in the 2600 block of Eastview Drive just after 1:10 a.m. on April 14 for a reported child death.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. Thursday near 33rd St. and Damen in the McKinley Park neighborhood. Sources close to the investigation say the man who shot and killed the 21-year-old had a concealed carry permit.
A bicyclist died after being struck by a SUV that drove away from the crash Thursday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. The bicyclist, a 46-year-old man, was struck from behind about 5:30 p.m. by a 2009 Saturn Outlook headed east in 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, Chicago Police said.

A teenage boy was shot Wednesday night in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The 17-year-old was walking on the sidewalk about 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Washtenaw when someone fired shots from a black car, according to Chicago Police.
A man was found shot to death Wednesday night in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 9 p.m. found the 30-year-old on a sidewalk in the 700 block of North Trumbull with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and back, Chicago Police said.
Two people were wounded in a shooting Wednesday night in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The males, whose ages weren’t immediately known, were shot just after 8 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Whipple, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.
