Two are in custody in connection to a police-involved shooting that happened Monday afternoon in Chicago's Burnside neighborhood, police said. At around 3 p.m., shots were fired at police near East 90th Street and South Ellis Avenue, police said.
A 23-year-old man was shot early Tuesday in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side. He was walking on the sidewalk at 12:57 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Morgan when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He had been shot in the chest.
A 41-year-old man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the 3500 block of Preston Street. Rockford police said the shooting happened around 4:20 p.m. Monday and the victim was found unresponsive at the scene. Rockford Police Lt. Andre Brass said the man was shot once in the upper torso.
Two people were wounded in a shooting early Monday in northwest suburban McHenry. Officers responded at 12:47 a.m. to a domestic disturbance report at a home in the 5100 block of Home Avenue and found a 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman inside with gunshot wounds, according to McHenry police.
A Chicago woman was killed and a 14-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening outside a shopping mall in west suburban North Riverside. Officers responded about 5:45 p.m. to a report of gunfire in the southwest parking lot of North Riverside Park Mall, 7501 W. Cermak Road, according to North Riverside police.

A car crashed to a CTA bus early Sunday injuring four people. The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. in North Lawndale. A car traveling east on Roosevelt Road crashed into the middle of the bus, which was heading south on Homan Avenue.

One person was injured in a fire Saturday night at a home in northwest suburban Elgin. Fire crews responded at 7:25 p.m. to a call of a fire on an unused mattress in the attic of the home in the 400 block of South Street, according to the Elgin Fire Department. The fire was quickly brought under control.
A police chase ended with a crash and shots fired early Saturday morning on the city’s West Side. The chase started around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in Garfield Park near Kilbourn Avenue and Washington Street.
Police in East St. Louis are investigating an early Saturday morning homicide that happened in the 2400 block of Ridge Avenue
Shazariyah Hibbett and Johny McFadden are charged for a fatal shooting that happened in Rockford in 2013. The incident happened back on July 4, 2013. On that day, Rockford police responded to the area of South Henrietta and Green Street after complaints of several shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Semarin Dubois, suffering from a gunshot wound and who later died.

A bus driver and three other people were injured early Sunday when a car crashed into a CTA bus in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. The car was traveling east on Roosevelt Road about 1:25 a.m. when it crashed into the middle of the bus as it traveled south on Homan Avenue, according to Chicago Police and Chicago Fire Media Affairs.
A person was arrested early Sunday after being involved in a crash during a chase with police on the West Side. At 12:21 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of North Kilbourn and began chasing a vehicle, according to Chicago Police. The vehicle ultimately crashed into a light pole in the 3000 block of West Grand.

Two men were wounded, one seriously, in a shooting early Sunday in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The men, ages 19 and 23, were sitting in a parked car about 12:40 a.m. in the 2800 block of West 21st Street when someone fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The younger man was struck in his left forearm, and the older man suffered a gunshot wound that penetrated through his shoulder to his chest.
