About 20 minutes later, a 28-year-old man was in an alley near Pulaski and Monroe in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, when a group of people walked up and one of them fired shots, police said.
Firefighters discovered the body of a 27-year-old woman inside an apartment near 89th and Justine late Tuesday night. A 57-year-old man and woman were also in the apartment. The woman is in critical condition with smoke inhalation. The man is in good condition.
