A 51-year-old Island Lake man was in critical condition following a crash late Thursday in north suburban Wauconda Township. Deputies responded to the crash about 11 p.m. near Ivanhoe Road and Brown Road in an unincorporated area of Lake County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police are seeking help identifying three women believed to have robbed a Gold Coast store on Wednesday. The trio stole items from a store in the first block of East Walton Street, where they used pepper spray on a security officer and hit the officer in the face, according to the Chicago Police Department.

A man died early Friday after he was shot while driving in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, according to police. About 12:15 a.m., the 24-year-old was driving in the 2000 block of West 71st Street when another vehicle pulled up and two people inside started shooting, Chicago Police said. The man was shot in the head and then crashed into a gate. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An 18-year-old man accidentally shot himself Thursday night in Englewood, according to Chicago Police. He shot himself in the left thigh about 9:40 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Lafayette, police said. He was in good condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

A man was shot Thursday evening in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. The 21-year-old shot in the foot about 7:15 p.m. when someone walked up to him in the 700 block of North Lawndale, opened fire and ran away. He was in good condition at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.
A man was killed and another was wounded Thursday evening in a drive-by shooting in Englewood. Just after 7 p.m., the pair was outside when someone in the back seat of a passing car opened fire in the 6400 block of South Hoyne, police said.

A man was found dead Sunday in the Fox River in west suburban Aurora. Edward A. Poe, 39, of Aurora, was pulled from the river and taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, according to the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
